The Happy Crocodiles are our practice emblem.
You've all seen the crocodile brushing his teeth at the bottom
of the stairs. Do any of you know why the crocodile is our mascot?
On a more serious note for Mums and Dads,
we take the health of children's teeth very, very seriously.
In general the damage done to teeth by decay takes place before
the age of 18 and whilst poor teeth may play a part - sugar
consumption and cleanliness are the major factors in tooth decay.
To counteract this, we have an array of preventive
treatments, some, like flouride toothpaste and mouthwash are
recommended, others like fissure sealants - the plastic coating
for teeth, can be done in the surgery.
We also have a special children's session to
examine diet and cleaning techniques where there is a decay
problem. Our new 'in the mouth' camera is used to show the places
that need special attention or treatment. We believe what we
practice - that prevention is better than cure.
